Get the best results by taking the time to do these things before your laser treatments begin.

• No plucking or waxing 1 week before appointment
• Treated area(s) must be shaved 12-24 hours prior to appointment 
• Avoid sun exposure 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after appointment 
• No self tanner for 10 days before appointment
• Come to appointment with clean skin (no makeup or creams)

Avoid hot baths and hot showers for 48 hours. Avoid anything that involves chlorine (e.g. swimming) for 48 hours. Avoid make-up on the treated area for at least 48 hours. Avoid the application of perfumed products or bleaching creams for 48 hours.

Depending on your skin's sensitivity, you may experience some residual itchiness, discomfort similar to razor burn, and skin redness that may persist for the next 24 hours. You will be advised to apply a cold compress and moisturizers to the treated areas.

Lasers can kill hair only during the anagen stage. Only about 15 percent of the hair will be present in this phase at the time of your session. That means that only 15 percent of hair follicles will be destroyed per session. Within 5-14 days following your treatment session, these hairs will fall out.

Since laser hair removal targets the hair follicles and not sweat glands, it doesn't directly decrease the production of sweat or alter its composition. However, hair can trap sweat and bacteria, contributing to body odor.  Therefore, LHR can help combat body odor.
